Bake Off’s Candice Brown reveals she’s married boyfriend Liam Macauley in secret wedding in France

The pair tied the knot over the weekend, and are currently enjoying a mini-moon in Beaune, Burgundy

BAKE Off winner Candice Brown has married her boyfriend Liam Macauley in an intimate ceremony in France.

The 33-year-old revealed the couple's happy news on Twitter, with many of the show's stars rushing to congratulate her.

Candice married the tree surgeon at a stunning French chateau in front of their family and friends on Saturday.

Confirming the happy news to her followers, she simply wrote on Twitter: "Got married didn’t we."

The post was flooded with messages from friends, fans and Bake Off stars, with 2018 contestant Kim-Joy writing: "Awww Congratulations!!! xxx"

While 2014 winner Nancy Birtwhistle added: "Huge congratulations Candice."

Her fellow finalist and friend Jane Beedle wrote: "It was a huge privilege to share your special day. You both looked so incredibly happy, may your love go on forever."

Judy Murray and Dr Ranj Singh also wished the couple well, alongside thousands of fans, leading Candice to thank them in a second Tweet.

She wrote: "The congratulations & love we have received is incredible! Thank you so much for all your kind words! I keep bursting into tears (of complete overwhelming happiness & joy).

"And to anyone posting negative comments - I hope one day you experience the love and happiness we have #wife"

She went on to reveal the pair had opted not to return home and instead spend their first days as man and wife in France.

The baker said: "So we were going to come home today but we decided to stay for a mini moon in france!! Now where’s that red wine #wheninfrance #wearealsofullofcold"

Before adding alongside a photo of Liam: "Just my husband walking down a cobbled street in beautiful Beaune #husbandandwife #willnevergetboring"

Candice later revealed to that Dancing On Ice partner Matt Evers and many of her Bake Off co-stars had been in attendance - with the latter even making her multi-tiered wedding cake.

In October 2017 Candice confirmed she had got engaged to Liam after rumours that they were heading down the aisle.

Reflecting on the proposal, Candice explained: "I get emotional. Because it's been such an amazing year. I feel very lucky.

"I've had such incredible opportunities – GBBO opened so many doors – and to top it off he puts a ring on it."
