Megan, who is speaking out to warn others, said after sitting into the front seat of the taxi and politely saying hello to the driver, he proceeded to compliment her appearance.

She said she again politely responded and said thank you.

But then, the driver began to make inappropriate comments and started to touch Megan, she claimed.

She told : "He said I had lots of tattoos and I said yeah I do. He then said 'do you have any in any private places' and I thought that was a bit weird."

"He started rubbing it and said 'this one is amazing, I love this one. Does it lead up to any private places?'

"I said no, it was just a leg piece and tried to lean more towards the window. Then he started stroking one that I have on my neck, it's actually a feminism symbol that he started stroking. He was saying things like 'so pretty, so pretty'."

As the journey continued Megan said the driver asked her: "Oh we only have eight minutes left on our trip, are you going to show me what a real party girl can do?"

She said: "I didn't say anything. I didn't know if he was joking or not so I didn't know what to say. Then we got to five minutes and he said 'oh only five minutes left, what are we going to do for five minutes Megan?'

"Then I was thinking oh he's not joking, he was being dead serious. So I stopped replying and went really quiet."

Megan began texting her parents, who were at home, about what was happening.

By the time the taxi pulled up outside her home, she said her dad was waiting outside.

Megan said she was "bawling" crying and ran to her dad, who attempted to confront the driver.

She later contacted gardai and gave a statement.

Separately, a different Dublin taxi driver issued a major warning over "rogue" cabs who he says are taking advantage of people trying to get home.

Neil Murray took to TikTok, under  and said: "There's a collection of rogue taxi men out there at night-time. It’s messing the likes of myself and other good taxi men out there.

"Apparently, what I’ve been told in the car is, you come up to a taxi man at the rank, you get in the car, he asks where are you going, you tell them where you're going, and he says, 'no I'm not going there' and they tell you to get out."

He explained: "The meter's not going on. It could be €50 or €60 only to Tallaght or Crumlin.

"They’re telling you the price upfront, which probably quadruples what it's going to be on the meter. That’s disgusting if you ask me."
