KYLIAN MBAPPE became the first teenager to score in a World Cup final since Pele in 1958.
The French, 19, starlet continued his superb tournament in Russia as his side beat Croatia to lift football's greatest trophy.
Mbappe is only the third teen to even play in the World Cup showpiece - after Pele and Italian legend Guiseppe Bergomi in 1982.
And his three goals on route to Moscow played a huge role in the French making the final.
Brazil icon Pele was just 17 when he scored twice in a 5-2 win over Sweden in 1958 - the start of an incredible international career.
After watching Mbappe's acheivement, he tweeted: "Only the second teenager to have scored a goal in a ! Welcome to the club, - it's great to have some company!"
Defender Bergomi was 18 when he helped Italy win the World Cup in 1982 - playing the whole game as the Azzurri beat West Germany 3-1 with goals from Paolo Rossi, Marco Tardelli and Alessandro Altobelli.
The 100 per cent record of teenagers winning World Cups has continued with France winning 4-2.
A Mario Mandzukic own-goal got the French off to a flier but Ivan Perisic pulled Croatia level after 28 minutes.
Antoine Griezmann restored the lead with a controversial penalty before Paul Pogba and Mbappe struck within six minutes of each other.
Mandzukic capitalised on a Hugo Lloris' mistake to give his side hope with 21 minutes to play but France held on for their second World Cup triumph, 20 years after their first.
