As the song begins to play, the 30-year-old full time carer gets in position as her England superfan toddler, who had a speech and language delay, waves to the camera.

When the chorus hits, Alfie and Nichola sign in increasing synchronicity until the end when they both give a thumbs up as a huge grin spreads across his face.

Nichola said: “Alfie loves the song and has been humming along so I thought it would be great for him to learn to sign it.
“He has really got into the World Cup spirit.

“I wanted to film it, so I could raise awareness of sign language and Makaton.”

Alfie suffers from Perthes disease which causes the femur bones that meet his hips to crumble leaving him to sometimes use a wheelchair on long distances.

Nichola said: “Hopefully Alfie will be having a good day pain wise, so we can go and watch it at his grandmas.

“If not, we will definitely be watching it at home.

“We’ve got flags pinned to the front of the house and on match days we attach some to his wheelchair.

“Because of his physical issues he cant play football so I’m trying to make a real effort for him to be involved by watching.”
