Olivier Giroud an injury scare for World Cup final – but some England fans think that’s a BAD thing
The striker, who is without a goal in Russia, needed an ice-pack after being substituted off
Olivier Giroud is an injury scare for the World Cup final.
The France striker was pictured with an ice-pack taped to his leg following his nation’s 1-0 win over Belgium.
But while most would think France having their first choice striker unavailable would be terrible news, some England fans think it might HELP Didier Deschamps’ side.
Giroud has played his role in France reaching the final in Moscow, however he is yet to find the back of the net.
Some England fans (who are already banking on the Three Lions reaching the final) think France would be weaker if Giroud starts rather than one of the alternatives.
Ousmane Dembele, who plays for Barcelona, would be the player most likely to come in should Giroud not be fit.

Le Bleus came through their semi-final thanks to a second half header from Samuel Umtiti.
Giroud played 85 minutes of the match before being replaced with Steven N’Zonzi.
During the game, the Chelsea striker needed some treatment after a clash and following the game was spotted with an ice-pack on his right leg.
It would seem he is now in a race to be fit for Sunday’s final, which could be against England if the Three Lions beat Croatia on Wednesday.
