World Cup 2018: Kylian Mbappe makes Rio Ferdinand ‘shriek’ with outrageous skill against Belgium
France's 19-year-old superstar stood out on the greatest stage in world football
KYLIAN MBAPPE'S outrageous skill in the World Cup semi-final stunned fans and made Rio Ferdinand shriek.
France's 19-year-old superstar picked up the ball outside his own area and in one movement flicked it into Olivier Giroud's path.
Rio Ferdinand, working for the BBC as a pundit, was so impressed by the piece of skill that he let out a shriek.
It was captured on film by presenter Gary Lineker, who wrote: "Mbappe with accompanying shriek from @rioferdy5. Very special young man... kylian not Rio."
After the match which ended 1-0 to France, Ferdinand said: "That shouldn’t be allowed on the pitch"
Mbappe was the standout player for France on a night when they looked like they were heading towards the World Cup final.
He showed skill, strength, pace and power - and even cameras struggled to get hold of him.
Mbappe upstaged Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne and Antoine Griezmann as Didier Deschamps' side reached their third World Cup final in 20 years.
Should England get past Croatia on Wednesday, the prospect of facing Mbappe on Sunday will make the Jules Rimet trophy seem that bit further away.
