But is has been confirmed the 58-year-old's future will not be decided until the end of the month.
Sampaoli's assistant Sebastian Beccacece was due to lead the whizkids in their COTIF L'Alcudia campaign in Valencia.
But he has left his post to take over Defensa y Justicia - leaving the seniors boss the chance to impress.

An AFA statement confirmed: "In the next executive committee meeting, which is planned for the end of July, the members will make a joint evaluation about Sampaoli's work and future."
The COTIF L'Alcudia begins on July 28 and runs until August 7, with Sampaoli likely to survive for the duration.
