ALDI are to close their stores at 3pm on Sunday... if England reach the World Cup final.

But it all depends on whether Gareth Southgate and his players can qualify for Sunday's showpiece event by beating Croatia.

England are playing only their third World Cup semi-final ever and have the chance to reach the final for the second time in Three Lions history.

To be fair, before you think the store is being the most generous retailer in history, they are due to close at 4pm anyway because of Sunday trading laws.

But it means their staff – and customers – will have plenty of time to get home and make a cup of tea, or something stronger, before the game kicks off at 4pm.

"If England reach the World Cup final we're gonna close all our stores in England early at 3pm on Sunday.

"We want our colleagues to be the 12th man cheering on the lads. #BringItHome"

The country has been gripped by World Cup fever so far this summer, with pubs packed elbow-to-elbow with cheering punters, while the nation's motorways have been empty.
