World Cup 2018: Russian hardman Artem Dzyuba shares picture of mangled finger before Croatia clash
Zenit St Petersburg striker has a finger shaped like an S after tearing a tendon two years ago
RUSSIA hero Artem Dzyuba is hoping to get his hands on the World Cup trophy - even if his mangled finger gives him trouble lifting it.
The Zenit St Petersburg striker has scored three goals in four games to help the host nation reach the quarter-final against Croatia.
All that with a finger which has been bent into an S shape after tearing a tendon two years ago.
Dzuyba, 29, issued a battle cry as he shared a picture of his crooked finger.
He wrote on Instagram: "For everyone who worries about me: football without injuries does not happen.
"But even a tendon on my finger, which was torn two years ago, will not stop me!"
Dzyuba has captured Russian hearts with his army-style salute goal celebration.
The 6ft 4in hitman has become known for sprinting over to the corner flag and paying his respects in military style to the crowd after scoring.
One fan replied to his post: "We believe in you. And do not let one injury hurt you! Get better.
"Tomorrow the whole country will be with you and your team!"

Dzyuba is expected to keep his place up front as the host nation look to continue their amazing run in the tournament.
Russia were written off before the World Cup but thumping wins over Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and a penalty shoot out triumph over Spain, have alerted the rest of the planet.
England will come up against Dzyuba and Co should both teams progress through the quarter-finals.
