World Cup 2018: England have perfect ten out of ten penalty record… but only during matches

Harry Kane's two successful spot-kicks against Panama ensured the Three Lions kept up their 100 per cent record from 12-yards

NOPE, you're not dreaming, it's a fact - England have never missed a penalty at a World Cup.

Over the past 60 years the likes of Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Harry Kane have taken ten spot-kicks and found the onion bag every time.

But in sudden-death shootouts, Stuart Pearce, Chris Waddle and Frank Lampard have let the side down, with just seven out of 14 hitting the target.

England have lost all three World Cup shootouts - in 1990, 1998 and 2006.

But away from the doom and gloom of England's woeful knockout record, we take a look back at all ten successful pens.
