But Juventus are among the sides monitoring Arzani with a view to a swoop in the current transfer window.

Premier League champions City are said to be keen on buying him and loaning him to Dutch partner club NAC Breda.

But Arzani is not thought to be keen on the idea and Melbourne do not want to lose him for nothing when his contract expires next year.

Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen, Slavia Prague, AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven have all been linked with him.

Mark Van Bommel, currently assistant coach with the Socceroos, was appointed as PSV’s new head coach last week and is said to be keen on signing Arzani.

The player would be happy to stay at Melbourne but a big offer from Europe would be hard to resist.

Former Socceroo Ljubo Milicevic says Arzani, touted as the best Australian football prospect since Harry Kewell, needs to leave the A-league immediately.

“As soon as possible go to Europe, do not waste anymore time in Australia,” Milicevic told Goal.

“I don’t know what opportunities he has and who looks after him, but the sooner you put yourself in Europe, the better you are going to be.
