FANS created an EARTHQUAKE in Mexico City after Hirving Lozano opened the scoring for Mexico against Germany.
Simmsa, a seismic monitoring network in the capital, detected a sharp tremor at 11.32am local time - the moment after 'Chucky' had fired past Manuel Neuer.
On social media, the Institute of Geological and Atmospheric Research said that "at least two sensors" had picked up a minor earthquake.
They wrote: "The earthquake detected in Mexico City originated artificially.
"Possibly by massive jumps during the goal for the [Mexico team] in the World Cup.
"At least two sensors inside the city detected it."
Mexico took a shock lead against the defending champions when Javier Hernandez led a counter-attack, sliding into Lozano on the left wing.
The PSV Eindhoven star, who has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal and Liverpool, checked inside before firing a brilliant strike past Neuer at the near post.
Despite huge pressure from Germany, Mexico held on to cause a stunning upset, making it one of the greatest wins in Mexican World Cup history.
Players were in tears as the full-time whistle sounded, with Javier Hernandez among those completely overwhelmed with the win.
El Tri regularly get out of the group stage, but have not gone further than the last-16 in any of the last seven tournaments.
They have only reached the quarter-final stage twice, in 1970 and 1986 - on both occasions when they hosted the competition.
For Joachim Low's Germany, it was the first time they have lost their opening game since 1982, against Algeria.
However, the West German team that year went on to reach the final, losing to Italy.
Speaking after the game, Mexico hero Chucky Lozano said: "We are very happy, my team-mates and I did some great work, we all ran our hearts out and this is the result of all this hard work.
"I don't know if it the biggest victory in (Mexican) history but one of the biggest for sure.
"It is great to start on the right foot when you are playing against the world champions.
"Thank God it was a great result for the team and to get this (man of the match award) means a lot to me.
"I would have to agree it is the best goal I have scored in my life. We all dream of playing in the World Cup."
