England 2018 World Cup squad: What is Gareth Southgate’s 23-man Three Lions selection for Russia tournament?
GARETH SOUTHGATE has named his 23-man World Cup squad.
Some of the country's brightest youngsters have been called up to represent England, while there was disappointment for the likes of Jack Wilshere and Ryan Bertrand.
Three Lions boss Southgate has also named five players on standby, though that list is now down to four.
Here is the squad for the World Cup in full:
England squad
Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Jack Butland (Stoke), Nick Pope (Burnley)
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Kyle Walker (Man City), Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose (both Tottenham), Harry Maguire (Leicester), Phil Jones (Man Utd), John Stones (Man City), Gary Cahill (Chelsea)
Midfielders: Jordan Henderson, (Liverpool), Eric Dier, Dele Alli (both Tottenham), Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young (both Man Utd), Fabian Delph (Man City), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea)
Forwards: Raheem Sterling (Man City), Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal)
Southgate had also named five standby players, but that list is down to four now after Burnley's James Tarkowski pulled out on May 27 to undergo hernia surgery. England have confirmed that they have no plans to call up another defender at this time.

Who will be the captain?
SOUTHGATE has named Tottenham striker Harry Kane as the captain.
He has previously captained England in 2017 for their first World Cup qualifier against Scotland.
Kane made his debut for the senior national side at Wembley in 2015 when he replaced Wayne Rooney and started his first game against Italy on March 30, 2015.
What has Gareth Southgate said about his England squad?
Southgate said: “I believe this is a squad which we can be excited about.
“It is a young group, but with some really important senior players so I feel the balance of the squad is good, both in terms of its experience, its character and also the positional balance.
“We have a lot of energy and athleticism in the team, but players that are equally comfortable in possession of the ball and I think people can see the style of play we’ve been looking to develop.
“The selection process has been over months really, it’s not just been the last few weeks. We feel the team are improving and we want to continue that momentum."
