Queen Elizabeth II, born on April 21, 1926, was the longest-reigning monarch in British history. She ascended to the throne on February 6, 1952, at the age of 25, following the death of her father, King George VI.
As the daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (later known as the Queen Mother), she was born into the Royal Family.
Throughout her reign, Queen Elizabeth II was supported by her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, whom she married on November 20, 1947. The couple had four children: King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. Her family expanded over the years with the addition of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Prince William, Prince Harry, and their respective families.
