Diet expert Dr Michael Mosley reveals delicious drink that helps curb cravings to boost weight loss

SHEDDING weight might have less to do with what you eat - and everything to do with when you eat it.

Though he's championed various eating plans that can help you lose weight - namely the Fast 800 diet - TV doctor Dr Michael Mosley has recently been a big proponent of another method that doesn't involve cutting calories or minding what you eat.

It's called time restricted eating and involves only eating between certain hours, which can often correspond with your bedtime.

The length of time you fast can vary, for example the 12:12 method could see you eating between 8am and 8pm and fasting the rest of the day.

Dr Mosley himself prefers the 14:10 method, which involves 10-hour eating window followed by 14 hours of no food.

He spoke about it in an episode of his podcast series , in which he waxed lyrical about the benefits of time restricted eating.

"I'm changing what I'm eating, I'm not cutting calories, I am just changing when I eat," the diet guru said.

And research shows time restricted eating can lower blood pressure, improve your sleep, help with weight loss and even cut your risk of developing diabetes, according to Dr Mosley.

He joked: "One of the easy things about it is that a lot of people are confused with calories but on the whole we can tell the time."

Still, restricting yourself from eating between certain hours might sound torturous to some.

For others, the mere idea that you can't or shouldn't eat in a specific moment may elicit pangs of hunger that are hard to ignore.

Dr Mosley had some tips to escape that misery.

You can enjoy a few different drinks in your non-eating window that don't lead you to breaking your fast.

Firstly, keeping well hydrated is tantamount to time restricted eating - you might even be getting thirst and hunger signals confused.
