Shane Warne funeral in Melbourne

Shane Warne's heartbroken family have bid farewell to the cricket legend at an emotional funeral in Melbourne.

Scores of mourners gathered for the emotional send-off in his home city.

Warne, widely considered one of the finest bowlers of all time, died suddenly earlier this month aged 52.

About 80 people attended the private service, including retired Australian Test captains, former England skipper Michael Vaughan and Aussie singer and TV personality Dannii Minogue.

Warne's ex-wife Simone Callahan raised a glass to the sportsman alongside his loved ones.

But Warne's ex-fiancée Liz Hurley was not in attendance as she was stuck working in the UK. "My heart aches that I can’t be in Australia," she said.

Warne's relatives were pictured walking behind the hearse carrying Warne's coffin on a lap of St Kilda Football Club.
