RUSSIAN McDONALD'S
reopens with huge queue for copycat Big Macs at rebranded chain named after missile
Burger fans in Russia rejoiced as McDonald's branches reopened under a new name weeks after the fast-food giant pulled out of the country. Huge crowds gathered on the streets.
The restaurants were snapped up by Putin's billionaire pal Alexander Govor. The food is said to taste exactly the same with copycat dishes on the menu.
The chain has been rebranded as Vkusno i Tochka, meaning "Tasty full stop" - and is also a pointed jibe as Russia has been pounding Ukraine with OTR-21 Tochka-U ballistic missiles.
It is expected that 200 of the new outlets will be open by the end of June.
Burger lovers queued the streets for some food.
Hundreds rushed to the reopened branches for their fast food fix.
