I recreated Kevin’s brutal burglar traps in Home Alone

– and was utterly horrified by what would happen in real-life

A new TV show has studied whether anyone would be able to survive any of the traps Kevin McCallister sets for robbers Harry and Marv in Home Alone.

The Sun visited the set of The Unofficial Science of Home Alone to witness these grisly pranks and see if there are ways to walk  away unharmed.

The first was the zip-line smash which sees the robbers smash into a wall.

It was found this would result in certain death if tried in real life - no amount of wrapping yourself in bubble wrap will help.

Kevin infamously takes out Marv and Harry by swinging paint cans from the bannister on the staircase.

The way to escape unscathed is wear a pillow, cricket pads and a baking tray.

Remember the hair-raising moment Harry’s head gets set on fire by a blowtorch? Really DON'T try that at home!
