AMIR KHAN admits his career is over if he fails to beat Phil Lo Greco tonight.
Khan makes his long-awaited return to the ring in Liverpool after his brutal loss to Canelo Alvarez nearly two years ago.
The Bolton-born fighter has not fought on UK soil since his win against Julio Diaz five years ago in Sheffield.
And Khan, 31, knows he has to look good winning his catchweight clash to send a message to the rest of the welterweight division.
He told the : “I have to win and win well.
“I intend to put on a clinic and dismantle Lo Greco, he is not on my level.
“If I have to go 12 rounds, so be it, but defeat is not an option.
“My ambition was to come back and win another world title, and if I can’t win against Lo Greco, it’s all over for me.”

The former light-welterweight champion has signed a three-fight deal with promoter Eddie Hearn who insists Khan has nowhere to go if he slips up against the Canadian.
Hearn said: “He’s fighting for his career, that’s the top line of this promotion.
“There are huge fights ahead for Khan. Kell Brook wants to fight him, Errol Spence wants to fight him, so does Terence Crawford, Keith Thurman. They all do.
“We’ve had talks with Top Rank about Crawford, we will have to see what Amir Khan has left.
“The truth is that no one knows.”
Khan weighed in bang on the required weight of 10st 10lbs and Lo Greco was a touch lighter at 10st 9lbs 5oz.
