EU business chiefs warn Theresa May that jobs could be lost if the Brexit stand-off continues

BUSINESS chiefs from across the EU yesterday warned Theresa May that jobs could be lost if the Brexit stand-off continues.

They called on the PM and Brussels to come up with a deal in two weeks during a visit to No10.

But EU leaders were also warned they had to take Britain’s Brexit proposals seriously.

The Prime Minister told the gathering of business leaders from across the EU that she wanted to agree an implementation period “as soon as possible”.

This would allow the go-ahead for trade talks at December’s summit.

Mrs May was also urged to keep the UK within the customs union and single market temporarily after Britain quits in March 2019.
