CRUEL SCAM

Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan in despair at HUGE blooper on debut album Morgan’s Merry Christmas

GOOD Morning Britain's Piers Morgan was left with his head in his hands at an epic grammatical blooper on the front cover of his debut festive album, Morgan's Merry Christmas.

The presenter, 52, proudly showed off his first attempt at musical stardom - after threatening to release his own CD last week.

He told the ITV show he was inspired by the successes of fellow telly hosts Nick Knowles and Bradley Walsh after showing off his gravelly voice in a rendition of the Phil Collins classic Groovy Kind Of Love.

Today tracks such as O Come, All Ye Morgan and I'll Be Home For Piersmas were detailed on the back of the album sleeve, which was adorned with an eye-catching image of the Londoner in a Santa hat and woollen jumper.

Yet it was the title which caused him great despair after co-host Susanna Reid pointed out producers had missed out the possessive apostrophe in the title Morgan's Merry Christmas.

Introducing the show holding a huge album cover he said: "It's here, it's here. After massive public demand," before which followed a hilarious montage of his singing antics on the GMB sofa.

He added: "It's only when you get it as a medley you realise how good I am."

Yet his boasts were dealt a blow as Susanna quipped: "Do you think I can point something out which might make your blood boil this morning?

"There's a missing apostrophe."

As he squealed "what?" in disgust, she added: "Morgan's Merry Christmas should be possessive apostrophe on Morgans.

"If you follow Piers on Twitter you will know possessive apostrophes are his thing."

The anchor moaned before being stunned into silence.

Meanwhile fans saw the funny side of the release, with many showing their favour for a rendition of track four's Silent Piers.

One took to Twitter to giggle: "Public vote is for Track 4! Carried unanimously!!" as another put: "What's this I hear...a @piersmorgan Christmas album? That's top of my Christmas list! Where do I get 1 from?!"

A third wrote: "I think the only thing on that album that anyone wants is “Silent Piers”. @piersmorgan @susannareid100 @GMB."

Another commented: "@GMB @piersmorgan 🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh ffs, missing apostrophe! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haha Morgan's Christmas album?? 🎄 😂 🤣" as one added: "I'm really REALLY looking forward to the extended version of track 4."

One followed up with: "Oh man the spoof John Lewis advert?! My morning is a disaster as I spilt tea all over myself!!" as one wailed: "Oh god @piersmorgan singing. 🙄 press the snooze button. 😂 #GMB"

Another continued: "Finally picks up on Grammar

Last week, Piers drummed up the idea for his first pop release after witnessing the musical success of fellow ITV presenter Bradley Walsh, as well as BBC host Nick Knowles, who performed an exclusive tune for the show in a recorded clip.

He exclaimed: "I'm going to do it, if they can all do it.

"Bradley Walsh is outselling Elvis!"

The show went to a commercial break - but not before launching a poll to see whether show fans would actually splash the cash on Piers' tunes - to which 54% said they would not.

Meanwhile on today's show, the former newspaper journalist Piers praised The Sun for its Christmas TV advert spoof take on the John Lewis commercial.

It features Piers, Susanna and newsreader Charlotte Hawkins on the night before Christmas with the hashtag #PiersTheMonster.

He said: "It's a bit creepy but I love it."
