A YOUTUBE blogger claims Apple fired her dad after she leaked details of the long-awaited iPhone X before its release.
Brooke Amelia Peterson claims she used the iPhone X when visiting her dad who works as an engineer at the tech giant’s California HQ.
She runs through the latest model's features in a video posted on Wednesday shot in the company's own cafeteria but has since deleted it.
Now in a new new video posted on Saturday, Peterson claims her "honest" and "wonderful" dad had lost his job as a result of her video.
In her latest clip, she said tearfully: "You know what guys? Hate on me all you want, but please don't hate on my father, because he's the best person.
She explained that her footage of the new phone broke company policy saying: "At the end of the day, when you work for Apple it doesn't matter how good of a person you are, if you break a rule you've gotta go."
She added: "I'm not mad at Apple, I'm not going to stop buying Apple products. Rules are in place for the safety and happiness of workers, and my dad takes absolutely full responsibility for the one rule that he broke."
She later said her dad had "a good run" on Apple and despite his dismissal saying he'd be "okay".
Tech fans have been champing at the bit to get their hands on the latest model of the world’s most famous smartphone.
The brand new Apple iPhone X was apparently been revealed by YouTuber Peterson
The gadget – created to mark the 10th anniversary of the iPhone – was not due for its first pre-order release until October 27.
Peterson claim YouTube blogger claimed to have got hold of one several days ahead of the big day after visiting her dad at work.
In a now-deleted video originally posted to her YouTube channel, she runs through the phone’s features as she sits in the company’s own cafeteria.
Peterson pays for her food at the counter using Apple Pay – which her father claims to have worked on.
She also marvels at the phone’s big screen, plays with an animoji and shows off its cameras as she films herself.
The iPhone X
The iPhone X will be available to order in the US from October 27 and will cost $1,000 in the States which equates to about £750 – but is being marketed in the UK at an eye-watering £999.
That's twice the price of the original model that was launched ten years ago.
It is not clear if the video is a PR stunt put out by Apple or really is an accidental revelation - but one thing is for sure it has got the internet talking.
The tech giant's chief executive Tim Cook said the latest flagship handset was a milestone for the company a decade after the first iPhone was released.
A big new feature of the iPhone X is a system called "Face ID" that lets you unlock your handset using your face.
Apple claims Face ID can’t be fooled in any way, meaning you won’t be able to get into someone’s phone by scanning a photo of them.
