Gareth Bale ‘all-but ruled out’of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Tottenham
Bale has been sidelined for more than a month, following a calf injury, but his return to Real is likely to be delayed further.
GARETH BALE was hoping to return to his former club for the second leg of their Champions League clash.
But the Welsh international has been injured for more than one month, so the likelihood of returning to White Hart Lane for the game is looking slim.
Coaching staff are reportedly concerned about his recovery from the calf-injury he is suffering with.
And believe he may not even feature in the first-team until mid-November, after the next international break.
His season has been blighted by injury, with this particular niggle picked up after scoring a screamer in Real Madrid's group stage fixture against Borussia Dortmund.
Bale has been sidelined since the 3-1 win against the Germans and was instructed to rest for a month which has resulted in him training away from the rest of the squad.
The reigning European champions are likely to face Girona, Tottenham and Las Palmas without Bale.
Bale's boss has already shared doubts over the return of the winger, Zinedine Zidane said: "Bale is already on the field, almost ready to train with the team, but I can't give you a date for when he's back."
Although Bale may not return for the fixture, Madrid's keeper Keylor Navas is making steady progress after suffering a thigh injury.
Tottenham have their own injury woes, as Harry Kane's hamstring injury has forced him to miss two crucial games against West Ham and Manchester United, where Spurs lost.
Although Mauricio Pochettino insisted Kane's absence was not to blame.
