  • Belgian forward Lukaku has completed a £75m move to Manchester United
  • Dream Team's fantasy football game is now LIVE - five weeks before the start of the Premier League season

Have we already witnessed the most pivotal signing of the summer?

And how should it affect fantasy football managers?

Romelu Lukaku's long-awaited move to Manchester United went through on Monday afternoon and will really set the cat amongst the pigeons this season.

Lukaku, if it weren't for Harry Kane's blistering end to last season, would have taken home the golden boot as the Premier League's top scorer.

He's as clinical as they come in England - and at £75m seems like fairly decent value for money.

Everton, who are spending big themselves, will obviously be worse without their main man and highest goalscorer in top-flight history in attack.

United - and crucially not Chelsea - are acquiring a striker who bagged 25 goals in the Premier League last season for a team that finished outside the top six.

So what will Lukaku bring to fantasy football?

One thing we have noticed about this season's Premier League is a dearth of elite level strikers.

How did Lukaku get on in fantasy football last season?

  • 25 goals and six assists
  • 7.50 rating on WhoScored - the tenth best in the Premier League
  • 247 Dream Team points

The departures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and perhaps Diego Costa have taken away two of last term's most prolific marksmen, although the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette has softened the blow.

That means Lukaku, now that he's made the step up to United, is likely to be at the forefront of fantasy football managers' minds - and it's easy to see why.

Last season, , Dream Team's ratings providers, gave the 24-year-old a 7.50 rating - the tenth highest in the Premier League.

His 25 goals and six assists for Everton amassed 247 Dream Team points, which is mighty impressive given the Toffees weren't involved in Europe at all.

This season he's been priced at £6m on the Dream Team game - £2m cheaper than Harry Kane.

Does that make him a more popular pick?
