Karamoko Dembele signs contract at Celtic, putting an end to speculation the 14-year-old would leave the club
Bhoys fans had been concerned their brightest young talent would be tempted into a move to one of Europe's top clubs
KARAMOKO DEMBELE will not be leaving Celtic any time soon, after signing a contract at the Scottish champions.
Last night, the club announced the youngster's SFA Youth Registration agreement - much to the relief of Hoops fans who feared he would be leaving with a host of European giants circling.
Karamoko, 14, has also been at the heart of a tug-of-war between Scotland and England.
On signing the deal, he said: "I'm delighted to have signed at such a wonderful club and I think this is the right place for me to fulfil my potential and achievements.
"And my goal is to reach the first team.
"It's not going to be easy becoming a footballer at such a big club, but I will show hard work, commitment and the biggest one for me, responsibility.
"With Celtic being responsible for my development and what I do in my football career, I have wonderful people around me nurturing my talent and it's up to me to put the hard work in."
The Bhoys sensation shot to fame last October when he appeared for the Under-20s aged just 13.
And now he is following in the footsteps of Invincibles hero Kieran Tierney by attending the club's coaching and education programme at St Ninian's High School.
Karamoko's dad Losseni revealed he would love to see his boy play in front of 60,000 supporters at Parkhead.
Losseni said: “For me it’s about my son’s development and I feel that there isn’t a better place than Celtic for him at the moment.
“He has been here since he was six-years-old and it would be brilliant to see him playing at Celtic Park in front of 60,000 fans.
“But I know this will not happen easily and will take hard work and patience.”
