Jillian, 37, a medical secretary, adds: "Seton Sands had everything to offer.
The both grew up having brilliant bargain breaks - Amanda with her family to Park Resorts Heacham Beach, near King's Lynn, Norfolk, and Alan with his family to Haven Church Farm, Pagham, West Sussex.
So when the idea came up of their first holiday together as a couple they both agreed they couldn't do better then going with their favourite newspaper.
They plumped for Park Resorts California Cliffs, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, and they had such an awesome holiday that it was their first choice destination for the next eight years.
Now they are joined on their great breaks by their children, Alex, four, and 20-month-old Ava.
Amanda, 36, a part-time office administrator, says: "We have two holidays a year with The Sun - they are amazing.
"Alan and I loved them as a couple and now we can't get enough of them as a family.
"That just shows how versatile they are.
"There is something for everyone.
"All ages mixing together with unbeatable amenities and terrific entertainment.
"There is so much for Alex to enjoy and Ava is fast catching up.
"At four years old he would stay in the pool for hours on end if he could - as it is we will usually go twice each day.
"One good way to entice him out is to say it is time for the children's club.
"The entertainment staff are so enthusiastic and really engage with the youngsters and get them involved.
"He is forever bringing things away with him that he has made and proudly showing them to us.
"He gets a great deal of independence and yet we are never far away.
"Ava has already caught on to enjoying the swings and slides of the adventure playgrounds and Great Yarmouth is a superb destination if you are looking for beautiful beaches.
"What more could you want?"
Well, Alan, 37, a senior design engineer, gets to spend quality time with his kids.
He explains: "We lead such busy lives when we are not on holiday.
"I am lucky if I see Alex and Ava for an hour in the mornings and the same again when I get home from work and they are off to bed.
"So, just packing our bags, jumping in the car and finding ourselves at the holiday park of our choice a few hours later is ideal.
