Countdown fans rip into Rachel Riley for embarrassing blunder during ‘p**s easy’ round in show first
COUNTDOWN fans have ripped into Rachel Riley for an embarrassing blunder during a ‘p**s easy’ round.
The beloved Channel 4 words and numbers game show aired its latest episode on Wednesday.
Colin Murray was at the helm as he presented the programme alongside Rachel Riley.
As ever, in the dictionary corner was Susie Dent who was joined by singer Cheryl Baker.
But during the show’s famous – and often hardest – numbers round, Rachel suffered a blunder.
The contestants were tasked with using the numbers selected to reach a total of 477.
Rachel, 37, admitted that she unable to find an equation that would equal the target number.
Red-faced, she said: “You will have to come back to me Colin.”
The host then swiftly moved on and spoke to Cheryl Baker in the dictionary corner.
Fans have ripped into the star, as one viewer said: “Got that numbers game, and Rachel needs a minute.”
A second said: “P**s-easy numbers but R*ley didn’t get it (50 +3) x (8+1) = 477.”
“Can’t believe she didn’t get that, very embarrassing,” said a third.
Meanwhile, Colin Murray has lifted the lid on former show host Anne Robinson’s feud with Rachel Riley.
Colin stepped in to become the face of the long-running Channel 4 game show when Anne decided to step down after a short tenure in the hot seat amid rumours of a bitter feud with co-star Rachel Riley.
Countdown airs weekdays from 2:10pm on Channel 4.
