However, the 33-year-old told the Scottish Sun how producers asked him to keep a lid on his unusual day job.

He said: "During the application process we were asked out of the box type questions - stuff that gets you thinking.

"It was things like name three interesting facts about yourself and three things people don’t know about you.

";I told them I’m a and they really wanted to hone in on that.

"I was asked not to talk about it on the first night, as they didn’t want it to overshadow the first show.

"I’d still make the same dishes, I’d just cut a few corners."

The 33-year-old even booked the week off work, so he could "fully enjoy the experience".

When quizzed on enjoying a glass of wine with fellow co-stars, he said the alcohol consumption was kept to a minimum.

He revealed: "Because it's a daytime show there’s not as much drink as you'd think.

"We got a glass with each course, so its spread out.

"I didn’t smuggle in a secret carry-out, that’s not my style."
