AIN’T ’FRAID OF NO HOSTS

Ant and Dec will recreate Ghostbusters for Saturday Night Takeaway series alongside Fred Sirieix and Melinda Messenger

WHEN there’s something strange in their neighbourhood Ant & Dec call all their famous mates.

I can reveal the Geordie duo have enlisted a host of stars to recreate cult classic Ghostbusters for their new series of Saturday Night Takeaway.

Will Young, Wayne Bridge, Melinda Messenger and First Dates hunk Fred Sirieix have all signed up to the mini-series which will air as the story runs through the upcoming season.

A TV source told me: “Every year Ant and Dec worry about how they can make each series better than the last but this time around they think they have cracked it.

"So many good names have signed up for cameos. When you get the call it’s not like you would say no.

“Building on the success of their whodunnits Who Shot Simon Cowell and Who Stole the Crown Jewels, this time around it’s based on Ghost- busters.

“Obviously the boys aren’t shy when it comes to dressing up and with this latest one they have been having a lot of fun with the costumes.”

Their 18th series of the popular ITV show is expected to launch in a month and run until the middle of April.

The duo have brought us some great TV but my favourite skits of theirs are their Get Out Of My Ear slots, where they tell a big name how to act and what to say in an everyday situation.

Watching the likes of Anthony Joshua and Cheryl let down their guard and have fun is what Saturday TV should be all about.
