Susan Boyle goes to cops over ‘death threat’ video she found on the internet…but detectives tell her it’s a YouTube spoof from seven years ago

The former Britain’s Got Talent star was convinced the clip was a thinly-disguised threat on her life

PANICKED Susan Boyle has called police over fears she was the target of a murder plot by a crazed stalker.

The former Britain’s Got Talent star was left terrified after watching a sinister spoof video on YouTube.

The footage – which is only ten seconds long – shows a mock-up of the singer’s corpse.

It begins with a message exclaiming: “Susan Boyle has died!”

The ‘dead body’ – which is partially hidden behind a piece of furniture – is wearing a gold dress similar to the one SuBo wore on BGT.

A caption next to the image reads: “The dead body of Susan Boyle after BGT.”

The video goes on to say: “RIP Susan Boyle, we love you.”

The shaken talent show star was convinced the clip was a thinly-disguised threat on her life.

A source said: “Susan panicked — it was a disturbing thing to come across.

“The video said she was dead and showed a picture it claimed was her lying on the floor.”

The insider added: “She is by no means daft but she’ll tell you herself she is an internet novice.

“She had no idea when it was posted or that it was meant as a joke — a sick one at that.”

Officers who visited SuBo, 55, to investigate discovered it was posted online seven years ago.

The source added: “They explained to Susan it was a prank and there was no direct threat.

“She accepted this but is disgusted that someone could make such a video.”

The internet has seen a string of rumours about the singer’s death circulating in recent years.

Boyle has also been harassed by crazed stalkers in the past, with one calling her home last year and telling her: “I know where you live.”

The YouTube video – uploaded in 2009 by Toby Jeffers – drew mixed reactions from people in the comments section.

One or two seemed to find it funny, but many were scathing in their criticism.

Asher Selig said: “You should be ashamed of yourself!”

And Joel Fritchman wrote: “I don't know what would be funny about this.”

But some didn’t seem to realise the video was a joke.

Celeste Brooks commented: “Did not know that Susan Boyle died.

“So sorry.  The talent is so rare.

“Now she can sing in heaven along with the angels.”

Police confirmed they attended SuBo’s home following a report of “threatening online content”.

A spokesman said: “It was established no crime had been committed and no further police action was required.”
