GHOSTS mixes a blend of paranormal events with a comedic twist - and it's premiering TONIGHT.

What is Ghosts about?

Alison and Mike lead the narrative after being gifted an enormous property from distant relatives, prompting the thought that their lives are about to change forever - but not necessarily in a good way.

It's not long before the doting duo realise that the home they have received is actually haunted by ghosts.

Chaos erupts as Alison and her boyfriend make the decision to turn their new home into a hotel - an idea which they think is going to help them earn a comfortable living.

The present ghosts, who have made the abandoned property their home for hundreds of years, are anything but happy with the idea and cause havoc with guests and its new home owners.

Who stars in the spooky new series?

A great line-up of stars from CBBC’s Horrible Histories, such as Jim Howick (Pat), Mathew Bynton (Thomas) and Simon Farnaby (Julian), are set to make their debut on Ghosts.

“We knew Horrible Histories was finishing and… we wanted to come up with another thing to do together,” Mathew Baynton revealed to the BBC.

Martha Howe-Douglas will play the role of Lady Button while Ben Willbond takes on the character of Captain who, despite being a former military member, lacks any sort of power or control over the troubling number of ghosts.

Meanwhile, newcomer Charlotte Ritchie stars as Alison while her on-screen lover is played by Kiell Smith-Bynoe.

Is the show based on a true story?

With endless comedic elements interlinked with spooky and a somewhat scary narrative, this series is purely based on fictional events.

Furthermore, it follows a similar trait of house-share sitcoms, in which characters are more or less trapped in an environment and have to find a solution to their growing number of problems.

“All of those house-share sitcoms contain people that are in a situation they are stuck in,” actor and writer Laurence Rickard gushed while explaining the show’s format.

“Ghosts is the ultimate version of that, they are stuck together for hundreds of years and none of them can leave.”

It’s bound to make for a fun-filled watch with family and friends!

Baynton continued by explaining how the show feels different to Horrible Histories, focusing on themes that are mature as opposed to the content previously offered on CBBC, which was heavily centred around a younger demographic.

“The kids who are watching Horrible Histories, at least the first time around, now they are all grown up – hopefully we’re making something so they can continue to watch us!”

When is it on TV?

Ghosts consists of a total of six episodes, which fans will be able to watch from tonight at 9.30pm on BBC One.
