NEW film 22 July, which is based on the 2011 Norway terror attacks, just premiered on Netflix.
Here's everything you need to know about the movie including when it's released the Scandi-cast and what the Paul Greengrass film is about.
When is 22 July released on Netflix?
22 July premiered on October 10 on Netflix.
It was created by English writer and director Paul Greengrass.
The film is 2 hours and 23 minutes long and is also available to watch at some cinemas in the UK.
It deals with the same subject as Norwegian drama Utøya-July 22, also released in October 2018.
What is 22 July about?
Set in Utøya Island outside of Oslo, the movie tells the story of right-wing terrorist Anders Behring Breivik when he murdered 77 children who were all at a summer camp to debate how to make the world a better place.
The graphic and relatively brief depiction of the bombing and shootings comes fairly early in the film, leaving two hours for Greengrass to deal with the survivor’s stories, the court case, the political maelstrom that followed and, of course, the mind of Breivik himself.
Judging from previous films Bloody Sunday, Captain Phillips, the 9/11 drama and United 93, Paul Greengrass is an expert in producing harrowing images of tragedies in great detail.
