SIR David Jason has been pictured arriving on set with two security guards following the “credible threat” that was made against him.

The 77-year-old telly legend was seen getting out of a car as the two men in suits walked closely behind him as he made his way to the Open All Hours set, already in costume.

Father-of-one David looked tired and stressed as he left the vehicle as other set security members kept watch close by.

Today The Sun revealed that the actor is being guarded round the clock after a “credible threat” was made against him, and has wo minders have been assigned him.

Security vehicles tail him on and off the set of BBC’s Still Open All Hours.

Bosses have also put up a cordon after word went around film crew that his safety was at risk.

The threat is thought to have come from a rogue nutter.

It is not known why they have targeted the Only Fools and Horses stalwart.

“No one is taking any chances.”

“Security is extra tight compared to previous years and he has two suited guards who follow him everywhere.

“They even follow his car when he leaves the set.

“The road they film on has been barriered off halfway along and sometimes even blocked with a van.”

Sir David, who plays grocer Granville in Still Open All Hours, has been filming in Doncaster, South Yorks, where the sitcom is set.

He will be joined in the fourth series by comedian Johnny Vegas, 47.

The show, set in Arkwrights Shop, returned to UK screens on Boxing Day 2013.

It is the sequel to Open All Hours, which starred Sir David alongside comic legend Ronnie Barker.

A spokeswoman for the BBC said last night: “We wouldn’t comment on security matters."
