FERNE McCann has opened up about a nightmare first date that left her in tears in which an “incredibly arrogant” man made mean comments about her body, then tried to suck her ear.
Speaking about her current stint on Celebs Go Dating to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning, Ferne revealed how her pursuit of love, isn’t easy.
She said: “I had this crazy date where I went all the way up to Manchester, the train was delayed, so that put me in a bad mood and I thought, ‘You know what, he’s got to be worth it.’
“And I got there and he was just incredibly arrogant, he told me I had big legs.”
Trying to get the lad out of trouble, Eamonn offered: “Maybe big means long?”
To which Ruth interjected: “Eammon called mine chunky once!
“I was complaining I’d put on a bit of weight and he said ‘No I like your chunky legs’!”
As Eamonn reassured Ruth he was trying to say he loved her the way she was, Ferne continued with her dating disaster, which took a turn for the sloppy.
She said: “I think he was trying to give me a compliment but the big legs didn’t go down well, and then he tried to like, suck my earlobe. So they dates are interesting.”
Heartbreaking footage from the show following the date then featured Ferne crying and saying she felt “really silly” and branding dating “hard and cutthroat.”
Meanwhile, Ferne revealed to The Sun Online that her dating pitfall is that she usually falls for “bad boys” and added: “I think bad boys bring passion and fun… I do like them, I shouldn’t but I can’t help it.
“I want to go out with a public school boy who’s going to come to my farm in Devon and pick my dad’s vegetables in his allotment. He will come to Fifty Shades with me. A bad boy won’t.”
“I definitely want to find love with a normal person," she said.
"I want to find true love so I can go home and he’s my escape from everything. The best relationships I’ve had are when you forget when you’re in this mad world of fame and celebrity and talk about genuine stuff. I want a normal bloke.”
Ferne went on: “I think I’m quite quiet with my love life, unless I’m papped you won’t see my out with a guy. This [Celebs Go Dating] is the most exposed I’ve ever been.”
