Ashley Walters and Noel Clarke slam criticism Sky One dramedy Bulletproof is ‘far-fetched’
NOEL Clarke has hit back at criticism that his Sky One show Bulletprof is "far-fetched", calling on viewers to remember they're "making entertainment".
The show, a dramedy that follows two former beat bobbies Bishop and Pike, played by Clarke and real life pal Ashley Walters, who are promoted to detectives investigating organised crime at the National Crime Agency.
"We're making entertainment," insisted Noel.
"If we made it real, we’d fire one bullet and then you’d watch me do 45 minutes of paperwork."
Speaking to , Ashley added: "What makes me laugh is that the people who say, ‘Well, that wouldn’t happen’, about TV shows are happy to watch Harry Potter or Lord Of The Rings."
The second series of Bulletproof will see the National Crime Agency detectives going undercover to infiltrate an international crime empire; their work will take them from the streets of London to Amsterdam and Cyprus, where they will have to risk everything including their police badges to succeed.
The pair also opened up on why Bishop and Pike will never turn crooked, admitting that they had "seen too many shows where characters like us – people of colour – break the law".
"It was always important for us that they would never break the law," said Noel.
"We said from the beginning that they're never going to be crooked cops. It was important that we had a show where that just didn't happen."
