Harry Potter star Rupert Grint admits he hated being on the ‘strange’ and ‘intense’ set of new show Servant
RUPERT Grint has admitted he felt "relief" when he was allowed to leave the set of new horror series Servant because of the "strange energy".
The Harry Potter star stars in the new Apple TV+ programme which follows a chef who hires a Nanny to care for his reborn doll that and his wife treat as if it is their deceased child.
Now the 31-year-old has admitted that the doll was a "powerful object" and the experience of filming was "intense".
"It had a very strange energy, the house," he shared.
"I remember, you feel this real sense of relief whenever you leave it.
"It's this incredible set. It's a real functioning house that they built in this soundstage."
"But I didn't like being in there – and especially around the doll, which is a very powerful object to be near.
"You almost wanted to look after it, but you didn't want to be anywhere near it. Yeah, it's quite an intense experience."
Best known for his work as Ron Weasley in the record-breaking Harry Potter movies, Rupert has also been seen in the BBC adaptation of The ABC Murders as Inspector Crome, an old friend of Poirot's who begins to doubt the Belgian's abilities in his older age.
Since stepping away from Hogwarts, Rupert has taken over stage and screen with stints on Broadway and the West End.
He appeared in Postman Pat: The Movie and made a cameo in Ed Sheeran's Lego House music video.
The actor, who played magical redhead Ron between 2001 and 2011, complained earlier in 2019 that he "definitely couldn't" bear to watch any of the film after The Prisoner Of Azkaban.
In an interview with the Radio Times, he revealed: "I think those early ones are OK."
He said: "I did see Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone not long ago, for the first time since the premiere, and I actually enjoyed looking back.
"But the more recent ones I definitely couldn't do."
