LOVE Island's Maura Higgins says Amber Gill is a 'strong woman' after Greg O'Shea split as she stunned in a glittering gown on the TV Choice Awards red carpet.
Maura famously looked stunned when Amber and Greg were crowned winners over Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury when the show ended in July.
But she insisted it was "disappointing" to hear the winners had split after Greg, 24, dumped Amber, 22, by text message last week.
After flashing her cleavage in the daring nude gown for the cameras, Maura, 28, spoke to The Sun Online about her fellow Islanders failed romance.
She said: "It's disappointing to see anyone part but you know what, maybe the long distance was a problem, I know Amber said she's disappointed but she such a strong girl, she's incredible.
"She's going to be so successful, she's amazing and you know what, these things happen.
"If it wasn't meant to be it wasn't meant to be but she's strong."
As for her own romance with Curtis Pritchard, the Irish beauty revealed she now lives in the UK so doesn't have to worry about the long distance any more.
She said: "We're not struggling, we see each other as much as we can, we've spent a lot of time with each other.
"He's in London a lot and I'm near London, I've moved over here now so it's great."

Maura has her own place but insisted it was too soon for Curtis, 23, to be moving in, and they were taking things at a "slow pace".
She added: "We're not going to let anyone pressure us, we'll do it when we're ready. "
