Maura Higgins hits back at trolls and says ‘I don’t need to prove how happy we are’ as she defends romance with Curtis Pritchard
MAURA Higgins has defended her romance with Curtis Pritchard and hit back at trolls, insisting: "I don't need to prove how happy we are."
The 27-year-old has faced claims her Love Island relationship with the ballroom dancer is fake as they struggle to see each other.
They continued to put on a united front after she was snapped looking cosy with botox and fillers doctor Joshua Van Der Aa.
Now in an exclusive interview with The Sun Online, Maura says they DO spend a lot of time together - but don't like to share their private moments.
Speaking at Tommy Fury's launch, Maura said: "We just don't put everything on social media - and I'm not going to just to prove to other people we're happy.
"We know we're happy. We spend so much time together. We make time for each other. It's just so nice having nights together just chilling and watching a movie.
"In the villa you can't do that or do anything like that. It's all normal stuff.
"We're just taking every day as it comes. I don't like to plan ahead, but when stuff comes my way then I'll decide if it's for me or not."
Maura hasn't had it easy since leaving the villa.
Overworked and stressed, the former grid girl cancelled work commitments after becoming "overwhelmed".
