Love Island’s Ovie says he’s not in love with India and is taking the relationship in his stride as he tries to negotiate his return to the UK
LOVE Island's Ovie Soko says he's not in love with India Reynolds and is taking the relationship in his enormous stride as he tries to negotiate his return to the UK.
The 28-year-old professional basketball player is not yet official with the Page 3 model, 28, after coming third in the show.
But the laid-back sportsman says there's no rush to put a label on things after meeting just three weeks ago.
In a This Morning interview ahead of his debut as a chef on the program, Ovie said: "I can't say it's love.
"Love takes time. Love is a thing that takes time to develop.
"We're in a good place. We're just putting one foot in front of the other.
"We spend quite a lot of time together. We've been enjoying it and taking it in our stride."
Aside from focusing on romancing his stunning model would-be girlfriend, Ovie is celebrating landing a gig on This Morning as a guest chef.
He impressed bosses at the ITV daytime show with his brunch-making skills in the villa - in particular when he sang as he scrambled eggs - so they've invited him to host a cooking segment on Thursday's show.
But he's going to have to juggle it with his full-time commitment to basketball.
The 6ft 7in Great Britain star - who plays for UCAM Murcia in Spain - admitted he's in the middle of making plans for a return to the court.
"I'm in the middle of trying to negotiate all that," he said.
"I've been abroad for a while now. I would love to be home."
Since leaving the villa he has been spending time with India and catching up with his Love Island co-stars - including best friend and winner Amber Gill.
They went on a double date with Amber's fella Greg O'Shea as they made the most of their time together in London.
Talking about his friendship with Amber, Ovie added: "I just saw so many positive qualities in her, but saw that she could have been a bit misunderstood.
"She's going to check everything you say to her and she doesn't let anything fly by. That's what I loved about her. She knows who she is."
Ovie joins the This Morning family alongside new Agony Aunt Maura Higgins who made her debut on Monday and was praised by fans.
