Love Island’s Amy Hart returns to Brighton Pride after being forced to leave over fears her granddad was dying

AMY Hart is returning to Brighton Pride after being forced to rush off over fears her granddad was dying.

The Love Island star was celebrating at the LGBTQ+ festival today when she rushed off, posting a message on Instagram for her fans who would have been hoping to meet her there.

She wrote: "Had to leave Pride due a family emergency. Have a good one everyone."

But Amy is now on her way back to Pride after revealing her granddad's health had rebounded.

She told fans: "Right everyone, so I had to leave Pride because sadly we thought my granddad wouldn't make it but he's serving comebacks like Take That and he's sitting up and eating ice cream.

"So now I'm on my way back and I'll hopefully see some of you there."

It comes just a day after Amy aimed a thinly-veiled dig at ex Curtis Pritchard as she sipped champagne at Goodwood yesterday.

Sources close to the defiant star told Sun Online last week that the ballroom dancer had yet to contact his villa girlfriend despite insisting it would be the first thing he'd do after the show.

Amy shared a sultry snap on Instagram and hid her eyes beneath her hat as she captioned the photo: "Talk to the hat coz the face ain’t listening

";committed to giving you #nofilter realness since 2019"

Fans praised her snap and told the star that Curtis, who paired up with Maura Higgins after Amy left the villa, was missing out.

One follower said: "Curtis will take one look at you and regret his moves!! Your a gorgeous genuine lady... we love you here at my house xxx"

Another commented: "You look amazing and you are a inspiration to us single girls out there and I have respect for you on that "

The 23-year-old dancer finished the show in fourth place on Monday night with new partner Maura.

He stunned viewers while in the villa when he had his head turned from "half-girlfriend" Amy during Casa Amor before dumping her.

The devastated air stewardess was left so heartbroken by Curtis' decision that she sensationally quit the show - moving the hunk to tears during her emotional goodbye speech.

After the villa, Curtis said he was keen to give Amy a call and make up with her - but the blonde beauty is still waiting for the promised phone call.

A source close to Amy told The Sun Online: "Friends say he hasn't called and they doubt he will.

"It's a nice thing to say but no one expects him to actually do it."

However, a source close to Curtis insists that he will be calling when his whirlwind schedule allows.

During a post-show interview, Curtis insisted that he wanted to make sure that his ex is holding up, and that he will make contact as soon as he gets his phone back.

He said: "I haven’t got my phone or anything back just yet. I will be talking to Amy when I do get my phone back.

"I just want to check on Amy and that everything is alright."

Jordan Hames also revealed that Curtis had told the other Islanders that he was going to call his ex when he leaves the show.

He and Amy appeared on This Morning together earlier this week, with host Ruth Langsford asking Amy if she could "ever be friends" with Curtis.

She bravely replied: "I would want to be friends with Curtis.

"I'm not going to message him first as he is with someone new now, so it's not really my place."

Jordan interjected, reassuring her: "Curtis actually said to me he is going to ring you as soon as he gets out."

Ruth then asked if Amy would answer, to which she insisted: "Of course I'll take his call."

She also praised his relationship with Maura, saying that the two look "really happy" together.

Last night, it was revealed that Curtis had finally introduced Maura to his Strictly Come Dancing brother AJ via FaceTime.

AJ posted a screenshot of the conversation with his brother and the Irish beauty to his Instagram Story.

He captioned the picture: "@CurtisPritchard12 See you soon. Hey @MauraHiggins Great to actually meet you // via Facetime."

The couple looked happy and relaxed in the blurry picture, with AJ previously missing out when the brothers' parents jetted off to Majorca to meet Maura as part of the show.

Amy and Curtis coupled up right at the beginning of this year's series of Love Island, and the two quickly became one of the most secure pairs in the villa.

However, Curtis' head was turned during the Casa Amor twist - where he admitted that he'd dump Amy in favour of new girl Jourdan Riane if she'd been interested.

The confession broke Amy's heart, and it only got worse when the hunk then dumped her because he couldn't promise he wouldn't be tempted to stray again.

To rub salt in the wound, Maura quickly made her interest in Curtis known, cracking on with him in front of Amy - which was another factor in her decision to leave the villa.

Amy's leaving speech had viewers in tears at the time, with the star explaining to Curtis: "I met you and you completely turned my whole world around. We made each other happy...

"I want us to be best, best friends but we both need to move on and we both need to find someone that is going to make us as happy as we make them.

"Realistically for you, you will not be happy all the time here because you’ll always put me first because you’re such a good person.

"That’s why I love you so much and that’s why I want you to be happy. You are not going to be happy whilst I’m still here.

"So, I’m leaving today but it’s a positive thing because I’m going to go and start the rest of my life today.

"I’m going to let you go and you pursue whoever it is you want to pursue and hope that you find whatever you are looking for.

"Once this is all done we will have the best friendship you have ever seen in your life."

The Sun Online later revealed that Curtis had begged her to stay in an emotional showdown that didn't make it to air.
