Tipsy Ben Shephard jokes about bulges as Love Island lads show off their packages on This Morning after wine tasting
THIS Morning’s Ben Shephard was in hysterics today as he joked about “bulges” while the Love Island lads paraded around in wet swimming trunks.
With a mischievous look on his face, the tipsy host – who had been enjoying a wine tasting moments earlier – told Joe Garratt: “There’s not much room in the lunchbox, is there?”
Michael Griffiths, Chris Taylor, Danny Williams and Joe were on the daytime hit supposedly for a section showing off the summer’s hottest swimwear.
But Ben’s references to “bulges” – and the fact the lads had to get drenched in water before their crotch close-ups – suggested otherwise.
The 44-year-old insisted: “It’s not just gratuitous” before firefighter Michael came tumbling down a slide with the camera zooming in on his trunks.
Presenters Ben and Rochelle Humes, already giddy from guzzling booze with an expert, soon got stuck in to the innuendos.
He started with a joke about Joe bringing in sandwiches, saying: “Where would you put them? There’s not much room in the lunchbox, is there?”
Then, pointing at Danny’s pocket, Ben said: “Can I ask a genuine question? Do you mind this bulging?
“It really drives me mad when my swimming shorts bulge. Rochelle doesn’t mind but it annoys me.”
She later turned to Rochelle and said: “You are a trunk expert. Marvin’s said that to me in the past.”
He later admitted: “We’ve drunk too much rosé.”
Meanwhile, Rochelle did her best not to check the boys out, saying: “I’m trying to avert my eyes. This is torture.”
The pair had earlier knocked back several glasses of wine during a segment about celebrities who own vineyeards.
It affected Rochelle so badly she said: “I need to sober up” after being seen running off with two full glasses of wine before the break.
She repeatedly stumbled over the phrase “prawn noodles”, calling them “prune nordles” to much mocking.
One fan wrote: “Rochelle is off her t*ts.”
Ben and Rochelle are covering regular Friday hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
The husband-and-wife team, in turn, are filling in for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby while they are away on their summer holidays together.
