Love Island’s Ovie is ‘totally India’s type’ says pal Jessica Shears as she backs couple to make it work outside the villa
LOVE Island star Jessica Shears revealed that Ovie Soko is pal India Reynold's type on paper.
The 26-year-old believes people are backing individuals rather than couples this year but is rooting for her friend to win with Ovie - and says they'll work on the outside.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online at the In The Style Summer Party, former Love Islander Jess said: "I feel like it's the year of either the girls or the boys, I feel like you're going for a person this year, rather than a couple, but I absolutely love India and Ovie!
"I hope they win! I've met India before, I've known her for years and she's honestly the loveliest girl, and Ovie is so her type that I'm like yeah! I love them," she said.
In last night's episode of Love Island, the remaining couples went on their final dates - including page 3 model India and basketball player Ovie, both 28.
During their date, the pair looked as loved up as ever as they sat down to enjoy a romantic candle-lit dinner.
The model said: "Obviously it's been an amazing experience but it wouldn't have been half as good if you hadn't been there, obviously I came to meet someone, but I didn't expect to meet someone I get on and like them as much as I like you."
The 6ft 7in basketball player replied: "I just think that we've got off to an amazing start, at one point it was sort of looking like I wasn't going to be in a romantic couple at all.
"I sort of felt like I might of had the role of guardian angel over Amber for my entire time.
"Literally when I was sort of at breaking point, India popped up, honestly when I walked into that date, Harley's a sweet girl, but you stood out so clearly to me."
He added: "I did want someone to sort of come in that I could really be into but you've sort of done all of these things. up until now i still want to know so much more and i know there's a lot more to learn about you."
The couple have been backed to win by India's mate and fellow islander Jessica Shears, who's known India "for years."
The lovebirds have been strong since day one when India came in as a late arrival, and they started to realise that they were interested in each other.
Even the dreaded headlines challenge didn't wobble their relationship, where fans accused India of being with Ovie so she has a chance of winning the show.
In last night's episode she even joked: "Sorry I'm not here for the six foot seven, I'm only here for the 50k", making Ovie laugh.
And he believes the challenge has only brought them closer together as a couple.
Jess, who revealed that she was pregnant on Instagram back in May, and is expecting her first child with fellow islander Dom Lever in September, also told The Sun Online that her husband doesn't want to find out the gender of their baby, but she is trying to persuade him to.
Jess described married life as "lush", and believes that their relationship has worked so well because they live such a little quiet life after meeting on Love Island in 2017.
"We live such a little quiet life, I feel like compared to a lot of people it's so boring, but it works so well for us, but clearly it works because we're one of the couples who are still together," she said.
The current islanders recently completed the baby challenge where they have to look after a fake baby in their couples - something Jess and Dom didn't stay on the show long enough to take part in.
And Jess added: "I feel like we would have aced it if we had done that challenge!
