Love Island fans slam Harley for ‘overreacting’ to Chris naming India in the headlines challenge and then snubbing his heartfelt apology
LOVE Island fans have slammed Harley Brash after her ‘overreaction’ to Chris Taylor’s apology after the headline game.
The coupled up pair came to blows after the blonde was left seething following a harmless game that had gone sour.
The 28-year-old from Leicester told the other islanders that he is “meant to be” coupled up with fellow islander India Reynolds after answering an innocent question in a game – and Harley did NOT see the funny side.
Ellie Brown’s best friend has caused a Twitter backlash as fans of Chris have come to his defence after his heartfelt apology.
Fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration. One viewer wrote: “Chris is absolutely wonderful. Imagine dating Chris – he’s so genuine and really kindhearted. Harley’s reaction when he was trying to explain himself was unwarranted. She just wanted to look like a boss b**** at Chris’ expense.”
Another wrote: “Harley, it’s a game. You are ridiculous, man. Just understand the game. Do not make Chris look like an idiot. Jeez.”
A different viewer continued: “Why can’t Harley just be nice to Chris?! Shut your goddamn cakehole mouth.”
Another took to Chris’ defence: “Sorry, but what exactly has Chris done wrong that he has to explain and apologise for? What has he done wrong? He didn’t write the headline. He was just getting to know India before he started with Harley.”
A fan of Chris wrote: “Good riddance to Harley! Chris deserves way better.”
While another commented: “Gutted for Chris. Don’t think he meant to hurt Harley and think she’s overreacting. He seems genuine.”
Elsewhere a fan vented: “I feel for Chris. He wasn’t saying he wanted to be with India. He was saying that’s what he thought the public thought. Harley is overreacting.”
Another barked: “Harley’s not even listening to Chris! Like, shut up!” and, “She thinks she’s better than my man Chris?!”
Chris explained in the Beach Hut: “I had a feeling it was me but I had no idea who the girl might be. Obviously I started out liking India so I thought viewers might have picked up on that.”
Harley, 20, told him: “I just think it’s unnecessary. I think it’s ridiculous behaviour. You’re saying you and someone else were meant to be together. The thing you did today was bang out of order.
“It made me feel about that big. You mugged me off in front of all of my friends. You just weren’t thinking, ‘I’m not gonna get mugged off. Life’s too short. I’m not gonna do it.’
“My happiness comes before anyone as selfish as that sounds.”
He said: “I’m really upset by this. I didn’t realise you were upset by this so I do massively apologise if you feel like I’ve mugged you off.”
The bust-up comes shortly after Harley and Chris had their first kiss and he showered her with compliments.
He admitted he liked Harley’s personality, their jokes as well as their serious conversations, and told her he thought she was “banging” in their heart to heart before they locked lips.
Prior to coupling up with Harley, Chris enjoyed a date with India last week who he’d initially had his eye on.
He asked Harley for a chat, telling her: “You’re actually a lot of things that I look for in a girl.
“You’re very funny but we can have serious chats. I feel like normally I can’t [have serious chats] but with you, I can. I think there are more levels to find.”
