Love Island will show tearful Amy Hart’s emotional exit tonight and reveal the final straw that made her quit
LOVE Island will reveal the reason why tearful Amy Hart quit the villa as they show her exit this evening.
Yesterday The Sun broke the news that the distraught air hostess had left in yet another dramatic twist after being cruelly dumped by her "half-boyfriend".
ITV bosses made the decision to air Amy's exit in full, including what led to her final decision, following hundreds of complaints about the "fragile" star's wellbeing.
A TV insider said: "She's said her goodbyes to everyone and it was all very emotional."
Her shock exit, — making her the fifth islander to leave the villa in 24 hours - comes after the blonde was removed from the house last week and given extra therapy.
An insider continued: “Bosses want viewers to see what was behind Amy’s decision to walk.
“She’s not had an easy journey over the last week and they think it’s important for people to see what the final straw was for Amy.
“It’s going to be a really emotional watch but they aren’t going to gloss over it because she’s been such a big part of the show this year.
“It’ll also be interesting for everyone to see the aftermath of her decision – in particular how Curtis will react to the news.”
The distraught air hostess made the decision to walk yesterday after an "overwhelming" week which saw her left heartbroken by Curtis Pritchard.
The 26-year-old had been upset since the dramatic recoupling episode when Curtis confessed to having developed feelings for newcomer Jourdan Raine while Amy was in Casa Amor.
He kissed Jourdan during a challenge and said he wanted to couple up with her, although she turned him down so Curtis stuck with Amy.
Amy broke down in tears after Curtis told her he was having doubts about their relationship.
The fallout episode, which featured other couples also struggling with the aftermath of the recoupling, sparked 196 complaints to Ofcom.
Fans of the reality show have been concerned about Amy's "fragile" state of mind and begged bosses to get her out for her own good.
A source said yesterday: "It was Amy's decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience".
Her dad Ian, 54, confided he had stopped tuning into the show because it was "too painful to watch".

Curtis has since been seen flirting with Maura after she announced she had feelings for him a shock twist.
During last night’s episode Amy sat down with Maura to find out why she had cracked on with Curtis just days after their split.
Maura told her: "From day one, I said that he (Curtis) would have been one of the guys I would have gone for. I do fancy him. I'm an honest person, I can't hold back, so I did tell him that I liked him."
Amy replied: "But not honest enough to come and tell me first that you were going to do it?"
She added: "A lot of stuff makes sense to me now. You were one of the most vocal that he didn't deserve a second chance."
