Love Island fans demand Michael is booted out of the villa after ‘gaslighting and lying’ to Amber

LOVE Island fans have demanded that Michael is booted from the villa after ‘gas lighting Amber’ and ‘lying’ on Wednesday night.

Michael, 27, told Molly-Mae that he’d slept outside and not in a bed with Joanna when the girls went off to Casa Amor.

But the firefighter wanted to sleep beside her straight away and only waited until the second night because Curtis and Tommy told him to.

And viewers picked up on his blatant lie as one person said on Twitter: “LOL DID MICHAEL JUST SAY HE MOVED AWAY WHEN HE MET JOANANANANAA? Curtis literally had to tell you not to get into bed with her on the first f*****g night”

Another said: “Didn’t Michael share a bed with her!? Why’s he lying”

And one more wrote: “Why is Michael lying he slept outside for one night then the next thing he was sharing a bed with Joanna all over her

During the recoupling, Caroline Flack has pushed Amber to reveal her feelings on the saga in front of the Islanders and Amber replied: “I had a sneaky feeling, it is disappointing.”

While Michael told the group: “It feels different really, because she’s stood there alone.

“I’m a little bit surprised. There’s situations where I thought she wasn’t that into me and I was biting me tongue.

“I haven’t been myself over the last two weeks. Every time I say something to you you either laugh in my face, which is really disrespectful.”

Michael was accused of ‘gaslighting’ Amber with his remarks as many viewers disagreed that she was to blame for his mood in the villa.

‘Gaslighting’ is when a person convinces someone that they’ve done something wrong when they haven’t – which Joe Garratt was accused of doing earlier in the series to Lucie Donlan.

The term originates from Patrick Hamilton’s 1938 play, Gas Light, in which a husband convinces his wife that she’s gone insane.

Taking to Twitter to discuss his comments, one fan said: “Michael putting Amber down so he can feel better about his own actions, typical gaslighting game.. next”

Another said: “You’d think, being a fire fighter, that Michael would know the danger of gaslighting”

And one more remarked: “#michael to #amber “why are you raising your voice?” … err, what mate? You wish… he’s so desparate to be the victim isn’t he #gaslighting #loveisland”
