LOVE Island host Caroline Flack takes her job seriously, and that means defending her Islanders from the likes of James Jordan who branded Anna Vakili a “nasty piece of work”.

His comments come after viewers saw the 28-year-old pharmacist slam Michael Griffiths for dumping Amber Gill in last night’s show.

In a teaser clip for tonight’s show, Anna can be seen defending her pal after the firefighter ditched her for newcomer Joanna.

Anna, who had picked Ovie over Jordan just moments earlier, yells at the firefighter in the fiery scenes.

But Love Island fans weren’t on board with Anna’s behaviour and took to Twitter to blast her for attacking Michael.

Former Strictly pro James Jordan also waded in, writing: “Anna is one nasty piece of work. At least the mean girls don’t have so much power in the villa anymore.”

He added, “It’s called karma baby! It is what it is.”

Host Caroline quickly replied, “She’s not nasty.”

“That’s how she came across babe,” James responded. “But I also remember the way she was also nasty to Danny….. only commenting on what I see. I’m not that keen, sorry.”

“It’s an extreme statement .. for her to come out and see … were better than that,” the TV star said. “I like to protect my Islanders… Love you tho as always.”

Others said that while she’s not “nasty” she did appear hypocritical after she dumped Jordan for Ovie.

More fans also accused Amber and Anna of bullying, with another Love Island fan tweeting: “Looks like a lot of double standards. Anna can recouple but Michael can’t .

“The bullies will be back tonight. Don’t blame Michael recoupling so wanted Curtis to jump ship.”

Someone else shared, “@LoveIsland can someone please tell Anna she just did the EXACT same thing! #bullies.”

Fans were left stunned when Michael dumped Amber for new Casa Amor girl Joanna after the boys were asked if they were going to “stick or twist”.

After returning to the main villa to discover she’s now single, a teaser clip showed Amber and pal Anna both tearing into the firefighter.

Tensions are set to be high in tonight's episode as Amy breaks down after hearing Curtis's betrayal.

In an explosive preview for tonight's show, Amy is seen crying her eyes out in the Beach Hut.

She sobs: "I thought I'd met my first love and The One.

She's been left devastated after discovering Curtis wanted to couple up with Jourdan while she was in Casa Amor.

In a dramatic showdown tonight, Curtis tells Amy: "I'm going to be completely truthful to you about everything.

"I pulled one of the girls for a chat and told her if recoupling was in half an hour I'd couple up with her.

"She said no, basically.

Amy replied: "So, she said no and you said 'alright, I'll go back Amy.'

"I fell in love with you and I get back to this.

"I never thought you would do this to me.

"You're the perfect man after all.

"Do you know how worthless this has made me feel? To know you didn't like me enough or respect me enough to be able to resist. It makes me feel like utter s**te."

Looking ashamed of himself, Curtis told the Beach Hut: "I messed up. I hurt her and have treated her very bad. I've been disrespectful."
