LOVE Island viewers have slammed the show for its "sexist" and "outdated" challenge which saw the female contestants compete in Playboy Bunny outfits.
Fans were horrified to see the girls dressed in skimpy corsets, fishnets and rabbit ears while the guys were in gym gear.
Taking to Twitter, many fumed that producers were doing all they could to deflect from other issues that were going on.
One stated: “So first issue was racism. So what do @LoveIsland producers think is best? Give the girls Playboy bunny costumes and display some good old fashioned materialistic sexism and everyone will forget the racism. Genius.”
Another added: “Why have the girls wear #playboy #bunny #bunnygirl outfits to do gym exercises? #getwiththetimes #loveisland @LoveIsland you sexist gits.”
A third commented:“This playboy bunny-esque exercise challenge is just plain weird and...a bit gross.”
“Playboy bunny costume feels very old school,” wrote another.
A fifth fumed: “Girls in Playboy bunny suits, boys in ugly grey shorts - wow the misogyny is really jumping out this season.”
UK television watchdog Ofcom confirmed it has received 23 complaints regarding last night's episode with some referring directly to the gym bunny challenge.
The task required the female contestants to drink a green health shake, then jump on a bunny box and do 10 bunny hops.
They also had to munch on an entire carrot whilst on a rowing machine without using their hands.
Finally, they had to complete 20 sit-ups whilst giving their boy a bunny kiss each time they sat up.
Viewers of the show lashed out, with many voicing their opinions on social media.
One suggested the girls should have been wearing gym gear, tweeting: “@LoveIsland bunny girl outfits! Seriously! If they're on a treadmill, couldn't you have gone for workout gear at least. Sexist!!”

“Reckon swapping roles n sticking some ears on the blokes would have been much better,” added another fan.
Some viewers pointed out though that earlier in the series the male Islanders had taken part in their own raunchy tasks, with one fan remembering: “Weren't the men asked to do a striptease down to their underwear and ride a bull?”
It is the latest controversy to hit the series following accusations of emotional abuse against contestant Joe Garratt, 22, to Lucie Donlan, and Maura Higgins' “predatory” behaviour towards Tommy Fury and her repeated attempts to kiss him against his will.
ITV is under huge pressure this year to protect contestants after Sophie Gradon, 32, and Mike Thalassitis, 26, both killed themselves after appearing on Love Island.
