Viral text messages revealing Sherif Lanre was kicked off Love Island for fighting Anton are FAKE
A VIRAL rumour claiming Sherif Lanre was axed from Love Island for fighting Anton Danyluk is fake, The Sun Online can reveal.
The chef was sent packing on day nine of the show for "breaking strict rules" although ITV has not revealed the exact reason behind his exit.
A screengrab of text messages circulating on Twitter, alleged to have come from Sherif, claimed he and Anton squared off over Anna Vakili.
The fake conversation read: "Anton happened. Purposely moving to Anna while I'm right next to him trying to touch her leg.
"Asked him for a chat in private because I wanted to confront him and it got heated and security had to split us up."
However, ITV sources said the screen grabs were fake and that wasn’t the real reason he was booted out of the villa.
Earlier today a Love Island spokesman told The Sun: "After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa."
Sherif said: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
"I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."

Sherif's mother Diana has since slammed the show's "very unfair" treatment of her son and insists he's "a lovely boy".
Speaking to the , his mum said she had spoken to her son but doesn't know the full story.
She added: "I don’t know the real reason yet, but I’m determined to get to the bottom of it.
"I need to look at his Love Island code of conduct and I need to speak to him properly to find out what really happened.
"But I’m his mum, I’m going to think it was a bit unfair. I think so. I’m going to defend my son."
Love Island bosses issue contestants with a set of rules before they go into the villa.
It is unclear specifically what he was kicked out for, but Islander protocol includes no nudity, a ban on masturbation and the practice of safe sex.
Some fans think he was kicked out of the villa for smuggling in a phone just days after he was seen on screen scrolling through one.
Sherif was part of the original Love Island line-up this year after being scouted by bosses while buying his lunch.
The hunk coupled up with Anna Vakili who he shared an intimate kiss with last week.
He admitted to already following the pharmacist on Instagram soon after they met with Anna unsure whether she felt more than friendship towards him.
His first day in the villa proved difficult after none of the female Islanders stepped forward for him.
Sherif was left on the subs bench and ended up in a pair with Anna by default.
His departure has thrown the show into chaos and delayed the next recoupling – with Anna remaining in the villa as single.
Sherif isn't the only Islander to leave the show midway through the series.
Samira Mighty said a tearful goodbye to the villa last year after deciding to cut her time short in pursuit of her romance with Frankie Foster.
The couple split for good after Frankie was caught being unfaithful on a night out − with Samira now in a happy relationship.

LOVE ISLAND RULES
- Islanders may be removed from the villa by producers if they break any of the show's strict rules
- There is a no nudity policy which means contestants are not allowed to be fully naked in front of each other or even in the shore (naturally, the hideaway is exempt from this rule)
- And there is also said to be a ban on masturbation
- The Love Island producers are really strict on practising safe sex and have provided an abundance of condoms for any couples who get frisky in the villa
- Following a huge wave of complaints surrounding the constant smoking in the villa after the series in 2017, ITV producers cracked down ahead of the fourth season last year
- Two drinks-a-night limit, either wine or beer, no spirits
Former Miss Great Britain Zara Holland left the show after her title was cruelly taken away from her in 2016.
In another explosive scene from the same series Malia Arkian got kicked out for her aggressive behaviour towards Kady McDermott.
Just last night Kady claimed on Twitter that Malia was removed from the show after punching her in the face and leaving her with a bleeding nose.
