Love Island star Amy Hart’s dad was booted off his BBC radio show after branding football fan a ‘window licker’ on air
LOVE Island star Amy Hart's dad was booted off his BBC radio show after he branded a caller a "window licker".
Ian Hart, 54, came under fire for the comments made during a football phone-in show, with his colleague Andrew Hawes also being taken off the airwaves.
Earlier this week it was revealed that 26-year-old Amy is set to enter the famous villa on Monday, but her family are used to having their name in the headlines.
The Sun Online can reveal that the Beeb were forced to take action against Ian in 2008, when he told a football fan to "go and lick a window" during a row over Brighton and Hove Albion manager Mickey Adams.
The comment was followed by presenter Andrew Hawes urging "any window lickers out there" to call the show.
The remark received backlash from disabled charities, with saying at the time that they were "appalled such offensive language" is still being used.
Ian apologised "unreservedly" amid the criticism, insisting: "In that split second I didn't realise the severity of what I was saying.
"I now know it was grossly inappropriate."
A spokesperson for the BBC also apologised at the time for Ian's comment, adding: "The BBC takes this kind of issue extremely seriously and action is being taken."
Ian was suspended by BBC Southern Counties for over a month, where he'd previously worked for a decade.
Although the radio host did briefly return to the airwaves, a source close to Ian told The Sun Online that his show "quietly disappeared" after his comeback when he decided to leave the show when other charities jumped to his defence due to his regular fundraising and charitable work.
The revelation comes just days after it was revealed that Amy's mum Sue was arrested after attacking a bouncer at a cocktail bar last year.
She spent a night in the cells and received a police caution after she admitted to violently lashing out at the security guard at the Molotov Cocktail and Vodka Bar in Worthing.
According to , Sue, who is a director at the family run Ian Hart Funeral Services, was partying with family members when police were called.
The Sun Online also revealed that Amy, who has quit her job as an air stewardess to find fame on Love Island, was bought £5,000 breast implants for her 21st birthday by her grandparents.
The blonde beauty said that she suffered from low self-confidence and nerves because of her 34A bust, with granny and granddad agreeing to boost her to a DD cup.
Speaking in 2014, Amy told us: "Now I never worry about putting on a bikini or a nice dress to go out because my boobs are ample enough to fill them.

"And it’s all thanks to my grandma and grandad."
The wannabe star is one of 12 new Islanders hoping to find love on the ITV2 dating show, which launches next week - previously bidding farewell to her eight-year career with British Airways.
Writing a heartfelt post on her Instagram account, Amy didn't rule out returning to the sky in the future as she acknowledged that opportunities like Love Island "don't come around every day".
