CAROLINE Flack reveals Love Island bosses cast hopefuls up until the day before the show starts – meaning young romantics aren't too late to sign up for this year's series.

The show returns to ITV2 on June 3, with thousands of contestants hoping to find love, bag the £50,000 winner's prize money and ensure instant fame - all whist getting a nice tan in sunny Spain.

And while producers have seemingly decided on a few Islanders, they will still be casting others throughout the series.

"I'm heading to ITV soon to have a peek at some of this year's Islanders - but they carry on casting right up until the day before," presenter Caroline, 39, told

The host will meet the contestants before they enter the villa, and says: "Meeting them is one of the most exciting days for me. As soon as I touch down in Majorca, there's always a buzz in the air."

So far since the series was rebooted, we've seen four winners - Jessica Hayes and Max Morley (2015), Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey (2016), Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay (2017) and Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham (2018).

There have been two weddings from the show - Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen (2016 series), Jess Shears and Dom Lever (2017 series); while Cara and Nathan's wedding is imminent.

There are also two Love Island babies - Cally Jane Beech and Louis Morrison (2015) have daughter Vienna, two; Cara and Nathan's have son Freddie, 18 months - while Jess and Dom are expecting their first.

But according to Caroline, there is no "set formula" for the perfect Island coupling.

"I've found that it takes a while for someone to let their guard down, and that's when we either fall in or out of love with them."

So far, Rochelle Humes' sister Soph Piper, Vicky Pattison's ex Ercan Ramadan, boxer Tyson Fury's brother Tommy and Strictly's AJ Pritchard's sibling Curtis are rumoured to be joining the cast.

The stars will be paid £250 a week this summer - which is £50 a week more than last year's Islanders who accepted £200 a week to cover their bills, rent and utilities while appearing on the show.

If they are among the originals and last the full eight weeks, they will bag £2,000.

However, some people, such as 2017 contestant Zara Holland, have called for the show to be axed after the deaths of Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.

Love Island start date is finally confirmed by ITV as show returns on June 3
